Enyimba’ll bounce back – Kalu

Former Abia state governor Orji Uzor Kalu blew his trumpet Wednesday, following Enyimba’s goalless outing in Gabon even as he promised to fight for the team in the next Senate.

Enyimba players in action
Kalu who is working for a place in the National Assembly, said it was time to breathe fresh air into the Elephants who he described as the Heart and Soul of Abia.
“I congratulate Enyimba, they did not let the people down.Their days of hunger will soon be over, change is imminent in Abia and as soon as that change comes, they will be born again.I shall take their case to the Senate to cleanse the injustice meted out to the boys in 2003,”Kalu said.
The Pillar of Sports reminded Nigerians of the plight of a team that broke a 35-year- old jinx, but got nothing from the Federal Government.
“Enyimba got nothing for winning the country’s first CAF Cup in 2003.That is unfair. When Shooting Stars lifted the Winner’, Cup in 1976,they got money.Rangers retained the trophy in 1977 and were rewarded.Green Eagles became Landlords for winning the Nations Cup in1980.Why must the Aba squad be left out?”,he asked.
