Lenten: Fashola urges Christians to pray for successful polls

As Christians commence this year Lenten period, today, with the marking of the Ash Wednesday, Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has stressed the need for faithful to use the period to seek the face of God on behalf of Nigeria and all Nigerians for a successful general elections
.
In another development, the governor commissioned the state Geographic Information System, GIS,  describing it as a defining moment in the transformation of the state and the continuation of its progress towards becoming Africa’s model city.
Fashola, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Hakeem Bello said, “we may have done all that is humanly necessary to carry out this exercise but we need God’s intervention to achieve true success.”
He enjoined every true believer to use the period for sober reflection on what nature of leadership was truly needed in the country.
“If we all agree that there is need for a change in our country, it is our obligation to determine what direction such a change should take,” he added.
