The President should care

While the so-called “faceless” suicide bombers kill unarmed Nigerians for no just cause, the President’s recent actions and utterances add more insults to the injuries caused by the explosions. The bizarre amnesty granted his political mentor is inexplicable. His latest statement to remove petrol subsidy as reported on page 27 of The PUNCH, March 20, 2013 is a confirmation of the “death sentence” he pronounced in January 2012 on millions of Nigerians through the partial removal of subsidy on fuel. If he does not care now that people who put him there are groaning in poverty pains, he should at least be reminded that power is transient.
