President Goodluck Jonathan is among 24 Heads of state expected to attend the inauguration of Allasane Ouattara as the President of Cote d’Ivoire

Others also expected at the occasion are the French President Nicholas Sarkozy, Abdoulaye Wade of Senegal and Blaise Campoare of Burkina Faso
A source at the Nigerian embassy in Abidjan told the West Africa correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN),Wednesday, that President Goodluck was expected to arrive on Friday for the ceremony due to hold on Saturday.
Also a statement issued by the France’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that President Sarkozy would be attending the ceremony.
Ouattara won the presidential elections held on Nov. 28, 2010, but the incumbent president Laurent Gbagbo refused to hand over to him.
Gbagbo held on to power for five months, attracting wide international criticism and an open confrontation between loyalists of the two sides which led to the death of more than 3, 000 people.
NAN gathered that the French soldiers and the UN military peace keepers would be providing security at the ceremony alongside the Republican force and the Ivorian police.
