Crisis in judiciary pose economic danger.

Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria, ICEN, has said that the crisis in Nigerian judiciary was “capable of jeopardising the efforts of government to improve the economic situation in the country,” especially at a time after revelations of the gory details of the botched privatisation exercise in the country.

South-South Coordinator of ICEN, Mr. Friday Udoh, said the government should protect the judiciary which is viewed as ‘’a veritable partner in determining the economic direction of a country”.
He added: “In times like this, when the country is desperate to attract investors around the world, it becomes a near impossibility to attract genuine investors because the judiciary appears disorganised and quarrelsome.
“The revelation on the hiccups in the privatisation process has informed every right thinking Nigerian that the programme has, so far, not recorded any success.”
